Introduced in the late 1980s, the reference 16610 is seen by many as the peak of blending old Submariner with new.
This awesome five-digit reference, features the aluminium bezel and more elegant, slimline case profile with lug holes of old, but ushered in a taste of modern too. This model saw the depth rating increase from 200m of water resistance you won’t need to 300m of water resistance you DEFINITELY won’t need in the bathtub. You will also find a sapphire crystal and the long-serving 3135 movement happily at home here.
Being from just before the turn of the millennium, you will find a SWISS-T<25 dial stamp indicating a tritium lume dial, replaced a few years later by non-radioactive solutions. However, the lume is in excellent condition with no signs of ageing, owing to its still relative youth within the tritium era.
