The Rolex Sea-Dweller found its origins in 1967 as the Crown’s answer to professional divers who needed to reach depths further than the Submariner’s 300m. The first entry into the family, the ref. 1665 was the world’s first watch to feature a helium escape valve, a feature synonymous with any serious high-end dive watch today.

Aside from the very slightly thicker case and the absence of the “cyclops” over the date window, the Sea-Dweller is very similar to the Submariner at a glance, but its a superior dive watch in all aspects. The neo-vintage era Seadweller 4000 has what we can only describe as the best proportions of a Rolex divers watch when compared to its modern form.

This example, a ref. 16600 from 2004, was the last reference in the family before a brief hiatus. This reference was the first of its kind to feature non-tritium dials as it crossed the turn of the millennium, plus the updated 3135 automatic movement which would remain in service in references after the hiatus, right up until 2017.

Our 16600 on offer today is presented in excellent condition, complete with its box and papers, unmarked with a date on the papers so you can put any date you wish on it! Complete with our 3 month guarantee, this is an incredible opportunity to own something similar in quality, style and form to the modern equivalent, but with that extra touch of modest style that can only come from a neo-vintage model.
