The Cartier Tank is one of the great designs in watchmaking. Created by Louis Cartier in 1917, its distinctive rectangular architecture has remained relevant for more than a century, becoming as much a piece of design history as a wristwatch.
The Tank Française arrived in 1996 and gave that familiar Tank silhouette a very different character. Instead of a leather strap, Cartier integrated the case directly into a metal bracelet, creating a watch that sits somewhere between fine jewellery and traditional watchmaking.
